Ha! Ha! We made these last Christmas and they were such a hit they didn't make it out of the kitchen! I suggest making a double batch.
My in-laws, both in their late-eighties, have been living with us and I asked Grandma to help make the cookies with her grandchildren-thinking it would create a wonderful memory for them.
Well, she has dementia and worked as if her life depended on it and was done in minutes! She also didn't quite make candy canes, and the kids followed suit. I had to keep showing her how to make one and hers resulted in the big twist with chocolate chips on top. See photos. (Yes- that's a pet chinchilla pooping) They had a great time and the cookies were delicious! Thank you for sharing!
